My website just has info about my sailing tours, and email and phone numbers to contact me. There is no option or need for anyone to enter info in my site. Is it still necessary for me to enable the HTTPS, or is this a non issue in my case?

Hey Daniel9525

Technically no, it is not necessary. However, Google sees SSLs as a big deal, even if no one is entering information in on your site, so if you do not have HTTPS set up, you will see it affect your search engine ranking. Taking a look at your site, it is mostly text, a few pictures, and one or two HTML boxes. It would be very easy to rebuild your site in our newer builder, Website Builder. The text and HTML can be copied and pasted, and you just have a few pictures to re-upload. Very soon, we will be offering free automatic SSLs to anyone on that newer builder, so if you were to rebuild your site there, it would give you a chance to revamp your site, be mobile friendly and get that HTTPS on your site without having to go through Cloudflare. That would be my recommendation.

Ok thanks for the info.

Is this currently effecting my search results, or is this something that will happen soon with Google? Also when will the new builder with free ssl's be ready to go? Thanks

It is something that will be affecting your site already, although it is likely isn't enough to be noticeable. It basically creates a better customer experience because it makes your site visitors feel safe. Some customers will not open a site if it isn't "secure",  you might see a hit to your organic search results.

The new builder is already ready. I would recommend to start the building as soon as possible. We are anticipating a launch of our SSLs to be very soon, but don't have a specific date.
