The email I received from Homestead on 1/3 said I had nothing to do or worry about... not so much! Today 1/7 (4 DAYS LATER) my emails stopped receiving and sending to my iPhone & Outlook '07. Taking time out of my day I discover that I have to completely update and change my settings to IMAP for my email. HATE IT!!!!! The original email I received on 1/3 advises "We'll send you another email with more information once we've upgraded your mailboxes", I haven't received anything. IMAP email... I don't want you storing my emails 'in the cloud'! Must be time to find another service... bummed!

Same thing has happened to me. We need to be able to access our email these are our business accounts. I didn't realize I couldn't just call someone till I tried to look for a number to call for this issue. So are we just stuck on a forum that was tell each other we have an issue and no one responds to help??? We are loosing business and need to get these emails up and running.

This upgrade is causing me considerable challenges. Outlook 2010 is trying to reach homestead servers and not getting a response. Directions from online chat on fix want me to "delete" the existing Outlook inboxes and reload. When I go to homestead and look at e-mails there, there are only e-mails from 12/24 to present. Not sure what to do.

I am not sure what all took place with the Chat rep, but, your account was converted to the new OX system. Use the "OpenXchange" settings on this page: https://community.homestead.com/homes...

Brandon0482 is correct.

If you already had your email account configured in Outlook or other email client on a cell phone tablet etc, the only change you should have to make is to update the email server names. This post gives instructions and screenshots for the most common email programs. https://community.homestead.com/homes...

I hope this helps.

James, our email servers work pretty much the same way as everybody else in the industry. If you configure your email account with the IMAP settings, then all of your emails will stay on our server (in the cloud per se), which is normal for all email services. This is what allows you to access your email from various devices and keep all the folders synchronized.

If you don't check your email from multiple devices or locations, and always use the same PC or other device, then you can configure the account using the POP settings, which allow you to download all the messages off the server.

Mike
