Our small business's email accounts are down again - third time in the three months that we have been customers. I'm trying to understand why I'm paying for this service when I can get a Gmail account for free. We run a medical therapy company and need our email to meet our patients and other medical professional needs.

This is unacceptable.

I understand that maintenance is sometimes required. If this is the case why are we not notified.

This is unacceptable.

I agree with campeau6061. Again my email accounts are not accessible and this is the second time in a week. I depend on timely emails from clients and these outages are frustrating and unacceptable.

When email went down last night (couldn't be found by Safari or IE9) I posted my own thread and started following this thread and 1 other posted minutes before me. Although it came back up at what appeared to be 7:37 pm last night, I had a 'potential customer' email me with questions today and tell me should couldn't send me an email from her personal account.

After seeing the other posts from yesterday, reading old email complaints with relies from 2 days ago AND receiving 3 replies today on my post from JUST yesterday, I'm positive it's because of Homestead's servers-not on her end.

I found this, which I think is inexcusable: https://community.homestead.com/homes...
It's an email complaint thread that was archived by Homestead 24 hours ago-PATHETIC!!

And I found this, reported 22 days ago:
https://community.homestead.com/homes...
The 'Email Update from 3/28' (first official response by Homestead posted 15 days ago) ends with 'We are sorry for the pain and inconvenience this HAS caused'

The next post from Dave says that when he went through servers being blacklisted with network solutions years ago 'it took a few weeks before everything was running smoothly again'.

And, just so you know, I talked with Homestead email support today and they said they were unaware of any issues.

Yet, to reiterate, Homestead just archived a 'hidden post' about emai problems with some LAME response.

Hope this info. helps. It doesn't look like Homestead sees a problem-I suggest moving your email away from Homestead too, like other community members have replied.

I'm having the same email access problems again with Outlook and iPhone/iPad? The email problem started yesterday afternoon EDT 4/11/2013. Very similar to the outage a week or so ago. No posting on the Homestead site of status or acknowledging there is a problem. Is there a problem and if so how long will this go on?

Hi Joe: I've been down since 3:30 p.m. PST Thurs. 4/11. Still down this morning. Some email may make it through if you use a browser to access. I might suggest everyone start new "Email down again" strings on this message board. Maybe if they see 200 of the same posts from different customers, someone at Intuit will notice. (FYI: I just call it "Intuit" here. I believe this email service was sold recently to some investment group, which is when they stopped taking help tickets, cut their support hours, stopped monitoring message boards and all the problems started.)

Check out this thread Ehsan from Homestead/Intuit Websites responded to 8 hours ago.

I'm following about 9 threads related to email issues in the last month, including when the servers got blacklisted and posted on ALL the threads.

I also posted on threads that Ehsan archived.
Hopefully you get some answers and please let me know what your issue ends up being and Homestead/Intuit's response if it goes offline.
I'd really appreciat it!!

I'm very sorry for the delays in responses to these threads. We posted an update this morning April 12, 2013 - Email issue impacting customers using Outlook.

We are currently investigating an issue impacting customers using Outlook or other programs to access Hmail. This does not affect all customers and those who are having problems when using an email program can still use webmail. http://mail.homesteadmail.com/

Webmail is not currently fully compatible with Internet Explorer 10. You can use a previous version of Internet Explorer or another browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari. However, if you must use IE10 - there is a workaround that can be found Webmail Problems with IE 10.

If you're having problems accessing email in webmail. Please let me know.

Why does the status show the problem being resolved when in fact it is still not working for Outlook & IOS devices? Or am I the only one?

I cannot use web mail as we have Outlook integrated into other business systems, like Sage ACT, to track email transactions and automated follow ups and responded. In addition, it is connected to Intuit QuickBooks for quoting & invoicing.

I think the community of users deserves a service credit for the month of April given all of the down time!

When will this service be back on line?

When will the status postings accurately reflect the true status?

on outlook the solution is to change the port to your incoming mail server from 110 to 995 and put a check in the box by use SSL on the advance tab.

This will fix the problem. Follow the other instruction for outlook off thier website and just make this small change.

Thanks for helping out on the Community James!

For anyone else, if the mentioned fix above does not work, then there is likely another issue that needs addressed. Let us know if anyone still needs help. thanks!
