We want to let you know about a change that will affect the way you use your Homestead email. 

Your webmail software is being upgraded from Open Exchange to RoundCube. The upgrade will take place on 1/30/2017. Newly created email accounts are automatically being set up in RoundCube. No action is required on your part. Unfortunately we are unable to move distribution lists, so those will need to be made again. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Domains with email suites will not be converted at this time. They will continue to use OX webmail.

This upgrade to RoundCube brings a modern look and feel to your webmail experience and includes new features like email filtering and mobile friendly design.

Will I need to change any setting in outlook or on my mobile phone mail app? If so, what are the new setting so I can still get and send mail?

This is just a change in the Webmail program. Your Outlook settings should not change at all.

Will existing contacts be lost?  A friend's email is upgraded and she can't find her contacts.  Is this normal?

Contacts may vanish, but Drew will be able to recover them.  Your friend needs to post in here for help as well.  Drew will be in tomorrow (Tuesday).

This is not normal, but has happened. We can get them for you. We just need to know the address affected and be able to verify the account. If you can have your friend post here that will verify the account.

My email contacts were not carried over? This happened right in the middle of my day and is hurting my business. How can I get my contacts back?

Ours just changed a few minutes ago.  In the middle of a very busy day.  All of our email contacts have been lost on ALL our email accounts.  We have 5 total???  And our signature lines are gone also & I can't find a way to re-enter them???  HELP  NOT HAPPY

We are open 2 hours a day to sell tickets to our theater shows! I just drove through a snowstorm to get here only to find that the changeover to Roundcube that was supposedly happen 8 days ago just happened and we've lost ALL OF OUR CONTACTS!!! We have work to do! This is ridiculous! You did the same thing last time but this time assured everyone that it would just be the format that was changing!!  Our emails are: elainegatchell@leddycenter.org; info@leddycenter.org, boxoffice@leddycenter.org, and leddyschool@leddycenter.org   FIX THIS PLEASE!!!

How do I update everyone's passwords on everyone's personal accounts?  Not everyone is in the office now?  And they work from home also????

Drew I know how to change my personal email password, but we have 6 individual accounts for 6 different people in our office, does everyone have to reset their passwords before I email you the addresses?  And it is very inconvenient to get these all done at the same time as most are not in the office at the same time.  Can I just do this somehow on our main Homestead account?  Some people need into their accounts right now and can not wait for everyone to complete the procedure!!   ???

Yes Roundcube does have a calendar.

You do not have an email suite, so you will be converted.

Suites are upgraded mailboxes. You do not have one. The only thing changing is the look of your inbox if you use Webmail.

Will this email have a larger storage capacity? I stay in the red and am constantly having to try and delete emails, but need to keep the majority of them for business purposes. And I hate to be pessimistic, but I'm very worried about this switch judging from when we switched from Zimbra to the current email, and all the issues that incurred from that. Like losing many of our emails, the email not working at all or timing out all the time etc. How can we be assured that that won't happen again?

This is a Webmail change only. Nothing on the back end is changing. It is only the visual interface that will change.

I have not been converted yet and I am asking that I please not be until you get all the kinks worked out! Please! The only thing I need with this email is larger storage capacity. I am fine with everything else. Looks like the current changes will cause major issues to running our business. Just like last time unfortunately. Is there any way to stop the rollover until you get all the kinks worked out? Thanks!

There is no way to stop it and the conversion will work if you have updated your password in the last 3 years. If you are concerned, then you can update the password on each box now and it should run without issue.

Thanks for your response. I have updated my email password in the past 3 years so hopefully it will convert correctly. When you say update the password for 'each box' to be safe, what do you mean by each box? I would like to do that just to be sure.

He means each individual address. (e.g. sales@, customerservice@; john@ etc). I just got changed over. everything is there and works. no worries. leave your password if you changed it in the last 3 years imo.

Never mind. Dumb question. I see you're saying if we have more than one mailbox to change the password for each. I just did for our main mailbox account but will for the other one we don't use much too. Thanks! Crossing my fingers!

Thanks Bill. Appreciate the info. I just went to change the password for the other mailbox account we have and everything is gone. All emails, contacts etc. But it's not as big a deal as we don't do as much with that account. Drew, if you can restore that info that would be great though. How do we create the signature again? I've gone into the 'edit' for the account, but the only options are to change the password and create an auto-reply.

Click on settings then on identities-it allows you to change signature for each identity.  I lucked upon in when I was looking around

Yes. There is no change in the data itself. We are just changing the interface.

I logged into Roundcube and found NO Contacts available. I had to go back to the OX Mail, Export the contacts list as a vCard file then Import the file to Roundcube.
Contacts should have been preserved!!!

Your email box has not been associated with the RoundCube, yet. Please check back in, most emails should begin to be switched over to RoundCube during this week.

Thank's Todd. :) we will all know when the switchover is completed. It will be easy to see.  Mike3767 has yours been switched over yet? when it's switched over, the ox login window won't be coming up anymore. The RoundCube login will come up. I am confident the transition will be smooth.

lol....adding a couple accounts to outlook (2nd had trouble although maybe password related). Then suddenly could not send/receive (in reality receive was working, just tried from another source). Oddly my regular (domain) accounts suddenly were not sending (but now are).

Do you know when the transfer on Monday will be done? lol...I have never been on the webmail but may need to get in and change this one password.

Also (don't laugh too hard) but I never changed my server settings when HS went to the current email as I never had trouble receiving/sending (in Outlook) but wondering if I should after the move. Could you please provide the conversation link regarding those settings?

totally unclear about this switch. what in God's name is an "email suite"? what is the new log in address? i read we will be able to toggle back and forth for a while to make sure everything is kosher. please clarify-precisely. thank you.

How will we know when the switch has happened or if we are affected? I don't login from the Homestead site, I have OX login screen bookmarked so I go there directly. It has worked today to logon to OX. I don't know what an "email suite" is either. Additionally, I had planned to migrate my email to another host at the end of this week but maybe I should put that off if my DNS setting swill change?

Sorry, we have figured out what happened. The system was not able to copy over contacts that had very old passwords. We can run the program again to bring them over, but first, you must update the password for each mailbox that needs contacts moved. After the passwords are updated, please provide us the email addresses we need to run again.

If you do not wish to publish the addresses publicly, you may start a private conversation.

Agreed this is a big waste of time that was preventable. Homestead should have notified us by email and provided a users guide and /or FAQs

Just got migrated. Everything looks good. Only feedback/suggestion is that we used to have different colors for "flagging" instead of just "red". Very helpful for old ppl like me to keep track of things. Green for $$$. Yellow for this. Blue for that. etc etc. 

Question: How do you delete a folder? The only option I see is to "empty" the folder or to "subscribe" or not. But no "delete". Please advise. 

Check that. I figured it out. Worth noting on that subject-it now seems as if I no longer will need to "repurpose" folders due the permission issue. So that's better.

Will report back if see anything else that's odd.

Regarding recovering contacts and updating passwords. Who do we send our email addresses to?
Also our sent messages have been wiped clean - can sent messages be recovered?

Yes, need different color flags like the old system. I have a system I use for being able to find certain emails quickly.....trouble with no Contacts & No Calendar is the more pressing issue for sure though. Super upset about that!!

You can change the colors of an event, Julia. Use the little gear icon on the lower left. The contacts and Calendar subject I am sure Drew can help you.

Maybe you're misunderstanding....I want to have multiple flag colors available like before. Not seeing how the gear icon in lower left corner will help wtih that.

Steve Hulsey, I have not removed any comments from this topic. That being said, it will be better for everyone if all posts are on topic. Meaning change the passwords, give us the email addresses that need to be rerun and we will do it. This will lessen the confusion for people and reduce all the notifications.

I need my contacts & calendar!!!! This is outrageous. Everytime you guys make a change it just makes things worse, not better. I reset my password...now what? Contacts & calendar still not there.
