In website builder, I cannot figure out how to make certain elements NOT master elements.  Each one I enter goes on to the master element list and shows up on all pages.  How do I do this properly?

You can read a little about sections here. Essentially, any element in the header section or the footer section are displayed on all pages. You can not change that. In any other section, the elements have a setting in the advanced setting for "show on all pages"

That doesn't make any sense though.  Is there a way to develop the home page so that it is NOT the header or the header section?  It doesn't make sense to have the home page and all the elements to appear on every other page-it makes it impossible to create any type of functioning site.

Hey Joe8337
To clarify, not all elements on the Home page are going to show on every page. Just any elements in the top and bottom "header and footer" sections. This is where people typically put a company name/logo, site navigation menu, phone number, copyright info, social media links or anything else that is useful to be on all pages. Any other sections will not show on all pages. If you have an element NOT in a header or footer section, and they are showing on all pages, go into the "Size & Position" settings and turn the "Show on All Pages" option off.

For example, the top purple section is a "Header" section, the bottom purple section is a "Footer" section and only the elements I circled will show on all pages. Anything I put in the middle black area will be on this page only.

Hope that helped!

Elyzabeth--Thank you!  That was perfect information/detail and the picture example helped tremendously.  I see what I was doing wrong now.  Thank you!
