I have clients interested in Mobile. Reading through Duda's knowledge base Homestead doesn't show on the list of compatible websites, yet Homestead offers it (as an affiliate). So I'm wondering just how we go about utilizing Duda - perhaps Homestead has a special code or something that is inserted?
Can you explain the process please?

Hey Susan,

When logging into Homestead.com, you should see a button that link to DudaMobile's website at the website manager. Aside from that link, you can also just visit their website and sign up with them. There is no special code or link necessary and our domains are set up to direct to DudaMobile automatically.

Once you have an account and set up the site on their end, they will give you the steps on how to integrate it with a HTML head tag redirect.

I had most of that, but recently built a responsive site for a client on Duda and we had to transfer the site out of Homestead as it wasn't compatible with Duda due to the inability to redirect. So my concern was that I'd run into the same issues with Mobile only. I kept digging and finally did come across the fact that with the Mobile we can implement redirect via the Head tag.

I've got my fingers crossed this goes better than the build of the responsive site as that became and still is problematic.

Appreciate your response and I'm sure I'll be back because this is all VERY CONFUSING! :)

Well, William ol buddy, ol pal I was really hoping I wouldn't have to bother you again, but ...
So do I need to purchase an m.whatever.com domain name in order to have something to redirect to? Or what? Subdomain?

No problem. Yes through DudaMobile to have the m.domain.com, you will need to purchase that from them. The free version will be under a DudaMobile subdomain like yourdomain.dudamobile.com.

Oh now I'm beyond confused. lol According to what I've read on Duda they aren't a domain provider. I'll keep reading ....

They aren't but without they paid service your site won't be able to redirect to the m.domain even though the domain is with us. They have to enable something on their side, and now they are charging for that.

Oh! no problem then! No you do not need to purchase anything outside that, just put the head tag re-direct and everything should work.

William S - Did I hear you correctly? Is Dudamobile going to charge everyone for the m.domain usage? I am really getting disenchanted with Homestead, after loving it for many years.

Yes, DudaMobile will charge for m.domain usage for new accounts.

In a quandary. I have a client site that is over 100 pages. Much of the info will not work on a mobile page - charts, plan layouts, etc. So, can I just do a watered down version, rework key pages to fit mobile and just put the redirect on those pages in the desktop version and let the others go to the desktop?

And SEO? Do titles and descriptions on the mobile version need to differ from the desktop version?
So glad your brain is available to pick - I feel like someone handed me a novel with half the pages missing! :)

Silly, that's not a late reply! and I really appreciate your help with this William - hate like heck to bother you, but this thing just has me befuddled for some reason - can't get my head around it. I need a cheat sheet or perhaps it's time for Mobile for Dummies. :)
