A bit about the situation first. I'm making a website for a ministry I'm working with. One of the workers bought a domain from godaddy on their own, (who knows nothing about any of this stuff) as I was working on the website here on homestead with a domain I had bought through homestead. I got the godaddy info and setup a forwarding from that domain to the one I had bought.

Forward to now, I've finished the basic website and want to publish it. When I hit publish it wants to publish it to the godaddy url instead of the homestead one. I have no idea how this happened and when I go to my domains and try and link the homestead domain to the page it says it's linked already.

I'm really at a loss here, I turned off the forwarding on the godaddy url and changed the nameservers and started the process here on homestead to point to it, but it still seems the godaddy url is pointing to the homestead domain that does nothing at the moment.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Hey Timothy6151

With Website Builder, you can only have one domain directly attached to the website. All other domains have to be pointed to the original domain. Right now, you technically have 2 domains connected to the website, which is what is causing this issue. My suggestion would be to delete the domain dreamsunited.org from the Homestead account. Then you should be able to republish the site. After that is working, just have GoDaddy help him point dreamsunited.org to the URL for dreamsunitedministry.org.

So deleting dreamsunited.org did work, however, it's now publishing to the http://dreamsunited.homesteadcloud.com/ instead of dreamsunitedministry.org. How can I fix that?

If you are in the builder, can you completely exit out, then try again?

Also separate question about the website builder, I have a form on the contact page. Is there a way to set it up to sent an email with the info when someone submits it?

Yes, the forms are naturally sent to email the form content. To change the email it is being sent to, click one time on the contact form, click More > Advanced > Settings, you will see where you can change the email address it goes to.
