Hello,

A subdomain is an additional part to your main domain name. You can create subdomain on your main domain. For example: store.yourwebsite.com. In this example, 'store' is the subdomain, 'yourwebsite' is the primary domain and '.com' is the top level domain. The most common reasons people use subdomains are for running an e-commerce store or setting up a blog for an existing company or business website.

can a sub account be used to set up a user log in page where only the users can see the content?

Hello Paul,

You can set up a password protected page in order to only allow access to certain people. Homestead does not have an option to set up user log ins, it will be one password provided to everyone. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/websitebuilder-password-protected-pages

Unfortunately - Subdomains are BROKEN in the new Websitebuilder.

We rebuilt our site in the new platform and all of our subs went away. Help Desk said we could create with C-Names, but it errors if you try to point to any pages w/in the domain... only works if you're pointing to a URL at a different domain.

Bummer.

Hello,

Sub domains, unfortunately, are not an option in the domains settings when using WebsiteBuilder. We can recommend setting these up using DNS records, however, it is true, a sub domain through a cname will work if pointing directly to a domain name but cannot point a cname to a specific page, my apologies.

Thanks Jeff9651 for pointing this out
It's pity but as I see all 3 website editors,
the Desktop editor is still the best
and my favorite

All three builders do have their individual benefits, whether it is functionality or familiarity. Glad you are able to utilize the one you like.
