I conclude that BigCommerce is unable to meet my e-commerce needs due to their inability to integrate with a payment processor that serves my merchant bank account.  If I abandon my webstore powered by BigCommerce and hosted by Homestead Technologies, can I get a host only plan?  I have already identified another e-commerce platform.  When I transition, what changes must I make and what impact will this have on my established e-mail accounts?  Can I maintain my e-mail accounts as well?

I think you can integrate the processor of your choice. I use paypal and stripe. Stripe posts payment directly to my checking account.

The catch is that the payment processor must support your merchant bank.  For businesses operating outside the United States this is particularly challenging.

Hello,

We can cancel and remove BigCommerce from your account and switch you to a regular hosting package if you would like. This can include your emails, you shouldn't see any down time with them. Let me know if this is what you decide and when you would like that to be done.

Elyzabeth:

That is exactly what I require.  However, before I do so I will must prepare my new website, and that may take a few weeks.  Once you are advised that we will like to terminate BigCommerce and keep our e-mail accounts, what is the time required for this process to take place, and what is the new pricing?  I will also like details on the regular hosting package.  i. e. storage capacity, bandwidth, will I still have analytics, domain privacy, etc.

If you look on http://www.homestead.com/pricing, you can choose which plan you want to move to. Just keep in mind, any email additional to what is included in the plan you choose will be $1/month per email. You will have analytics, you can have privacy, and this change would be pretty immediate.

Elyzabeth:

I have gone full circle with this question, but I have gotten an education in the meanwhile.  Now that I know a little more, my new questions are:

1)  What payment gateways are supported by the Homestead SimpleStore?
2)  Is that option more flexible than the BigCommerce Storefront with respect to integration by third party developers?  and,
3) Is the 100 product limitation with SimpleStore the primary reason why my Storefront is powered by BigCommerce?

The store that you would be using is our ecommerce plan for Website Builder, which uses Stripe or Paypal. Big Commerce definitely had more options in regard to payment gateways.
I would say it is less flexible. The only two things you can use are Stripe and Paypal
I would imagine if you need more than 100 products, that would be why you chose BigCommerce, but we do not have that limitation in our Website Builder Ecommerce.
