If I cancel my Homestead services, will my domain name then be free to be used for another website builder such as SquareSpace or Wix?

If you cancel the SiteBuilder service you can still have your domain hosted by Homestead or you can transfer it to the host of your choice.

I wouldn't just cancel my Homestead services in hopes that the domain name would be available automatically.  I would take every precaution not to lose my domain name by pointing, transferring, or moving accounts before I take any drastic step.

Victor and Susan are correct. Someone will need to host the domain and keep it active. We can host the domain for you and point it to Wix, SquareSpace etc.. or you can transfer the domain to the website provider and pay them to host the domain with your website. Some companies will not let you transfer a domain in, like Wix, and some will charge you. I would recommend asking your new website host what would be best and they will advise you.
