My office received the e-mail that our email was upgraded to the new provider. My co-worker just received a call advising her that an auto-reply she used in July stating that she was on her honeymoon is being sent out. Where on homestead e-mail login website can she change this?

My email will not show sent emails or save draft emails...what's wrong ?
I can receive emails and it seems like I can also send email but I can't see them on the sent emails folder.

The folders are not missing. They are there and contain my sent email up until December 24th. The draft folder is there too but empty.

Im checking through my iphone and ipad. I can send and receive emails but I cant see them in the sent folder or save any draft. When im trying to safe a draft I get this message:
CANOT GET MAIL
The mail server mail.homestead.com is not responding.....

It seems that the ios now maps everything on IMAP accounts to local folders as opposed to the server folders. I have only made one thread concerning that for the trash, but you should be able to see all the advanced settings under mailbox behaviors and editing them just like in this topic

I have followed the set-up instructions for receiving my Homestead email via Macmail and I am having a difficult time connecting to the homestead server to SEND emails from my Macmail. This is the message I get:

"The sender address contact@snickleprice.com was rejected by the server smtp.homestead.com.

Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent."

contact@snickleprice.com is the email I use through my website. How do I fix this?

It's not connecting to the server. You'll want to double check that there are no typos in the username (email address), password and the server name. Also, make sure that the SSL setting is turned off. If you still need help let us know.

Some emails I am sending are bouncing back this morning. I know the addresses are correct so the should not be coming back. I am receiving the following message when the are returned

I have been trying to access my account, as well as make the changes to my iPhone for a few days. I have tried to access using the webmail button off of the Homestead site as well. It keeps telling me I have invalid credentials, and my phone says invalid password. I know this is not incorrect.
Please help me, this is having a significant impact on my business!

Thanks for the response, but I am not even being given the options. On the left side it shows emails and calendars. If I click that, it send me to a login screen, with nothing else on it, so no option to manage anything :(

You change the password from the Homestead site. It sounds like you are logging into the email account itself. Log into www.homestead.com and you'll see the email link on the left.

How can I fix the "Mail delivery failure" notice that my clients have been receiving every time they email me. I am able to send and receive, but this notice comes up every time they email me.

Let me know if you see any more of these errors. We had to reboot one of the email servers so this should have been something very temporary.

My test email came back with the same mail failure delivery notice. Sorry to say! Now I'm getting duplicate and even triplicate emails (the last from Homestead Satisfaction on email verification. It seems to be getting worse.

Ken9242, can you clarify more? Does this happen randomly, to specific emails, or what? Also, if you can post the exact error message to make sure we are researching the right thing it will be helpful.

Actually, when I was getting ready to log into your account, I noticed that you are forwarding the emails from this address, to the same address which creates a forwarding loop. I removed the forwarding address. Go ahead and send another email and see if this fixes the problem.

I have 3 email addresses that went through this platform change this morning. 2 are working fine as far as I can tell, but the 3rd one is not sending to certain email addresses. It seems to be receiving all messages but will not send to certain ones. At first I thought it was not sending at all but it did send to my wife's work email. The 2 addresses I tried to send a test to and it did not work were my personal gmail account and another work account I have that is a webmail account.

The other strange thing is I was able to forward the test email to my gmail account and I was able to reply to a message sent from the gmail, but I can't send a new email to these accounts. It says the emails are sent but they are not coming through on the other account.

Please advise.

We'll be happy to help troubleshoot this. We'll first need some specifics.

1. what is the email address with the problem?

2. are you sending it through outlook, or another 3rd party email client?
If so which one?

Or, are you sending it through the OX web page (accessed from Homestead)?

3. are there any bounce or error messages?

3. There are no error messages it looks like the message is sent but is not received in the other account again when I forwarded the message and replied to a message sent from my gmail those both went through. However when I try to send a new message it does not work.

Nevermind it is now working. I had spent several hours playing with the settings to see if I could get it to work, individually changing almost every setting and then changing it back. There was a glitch with the signatures function, I thought you might like to know this case someone else has the same problem. When I removed the default signature that I had set, the email finally went through on both accounts I was testing on. I then deleted the signature and created it again set it as the default again and it is working fine. I do not however appreciate losing valuable hours of my work day on this.

I think it would be smart for homestead to find the glitches with a new platform before it releases it. Also giving some notice that there would be a change rather than tell you about it after it has already been made. I have 3 email addresses and 2 websites with homestead for 2 of our 4 businesses. I also just got started with quickbooks online through intuit for the accounting of one of our businesses. I have to say up to this point I have been happy with all the services your company has provided, but I do have to say by the looks of all the issues people have wrote about on this forum including my own, someone may have dropped that ball on the transition of this change.

Hi David7349, Can you tell me what you had in the signature?

If your email sends without the signature, but not with it, then there is most likely something in the Signature that is associated with spamming. What kind of bounce message did you get? You can post it here if you wish.

Ok, ever since the transition yesterday every time someone sends my boss an email his email send an Out of Office notification he put on in April of last year. Neither one of us actually set it up to do that...it has just been happening since yesterday when you started do the upgrades. Also, a few of my emails failed yesterday. Anyway, we can't figure out how to take it off. I don't have a rule set for it to have an Out of Office notification and I don't know how else to set or take down one of these notifications. Please help!

When using outlook, does it give you any error messages? or can you provide other details?

Also when trying to log in through the Homestead site, what exactly is happening. I'll need more details as to what you are seeing on your end.

On Outlook, I'm just getting the logon. It doesn't seem to be taking my password. I think I've tried every password I would have used before.
One the Homestead site, when I try to log in, I get an 'invalid credentials'. How do I know if I'm using the right password, or how can I change my password?

Hi,

I noticed I can no longer access my e-mail group. You say you are sending a spreadsheet to your customers of all e-mail groups, but I need it right away - not in months. How can I get access to my e-mail group addresses now? I send e-mails to my customers daily and right now, they are in the dark!

Are you referring to a group that was store in the Zimbra web client?

Or did you actually create a list on the Homestead site?
If it was on the Homestead site it would have it's on name/email address. Can you tell me what that email address was and I can get it for you.

If it was stored in the Zimbra site, we may have to unlock the old account and let you log into it. Just let us know which one it was.

I manage the website for a church and we are still awaiting the spreadsheet for two groups. I was not involved when the list was created, but I am assuming it was created in the Zimbra site. You indicated in your response to Scott8333 to "let us know which one it was." Are you referring to which account? If so, what information do you need to identify the account? Any other info you need to unlock the account? If you provide access to the old account, can I create the spreadsheet or do a copy and paste of the email addresses in the group?

I am using the latest version of OS X and Mail. I did the set-up and had smtp problems. I get a message that the smtp is not secure and outgoing message is being routed through eigbox.net? I approved the site certificate but am not really comfortable with this information not being included in the upgrade information.

The overall disk space. The new capacity you are incorporating... is it per email box or is it split up over how many email boxes we have? i.e. admin@xxx.com has 10,000 message limit and admin2@xxx.com has 10,000 message limit... OR do they each have 5,000?? Thanks.

Also I have not been upgraded yet. BUT I keep getting the quota message that I need to clear some space. Do you have an archiving package? If so, how much does it cost. I'd like to just empty out the email completely and put it on a flash drive. I could start fresh for this year.

The limits are per mailbox. We do have an archive service that creates a second box for the mail currently in the box and then clears your main email. You then have 2 boxes to check. It costs $50. You can also try making enough space to last a few days, as we hope to be done with these before the end of the month. You can check in sent to see if you can get rid of anything and make sure to empty the trash.

We can manually start the migration, but typically we only migrate Sunday night through Thursday to make sure that a full staff if available in case of a problem.

CANNOT SEND EMAILS FROM ANDROID PHONE
We are having many problems with the 'upgrade' to open exchange server. Our main problem is with the android phones. I set up as directed with your instructions, with the email app.(used IMAP and smtp) and I receive all my emails fine to my phone, but I cannot send any emails at all. All undeliverable, I do get an error message about a min later, saying the message did not send from the app.

Since the Email application on android was not working to send emails, I went on my browser on my android phone, and there is no mobile version for the open exchange server (which would be helpful!!!) And I still can only send emails to some addresses, most get an error message or do not send at all.

When Im on my desktop computer, I do not have this problem, the emails send. But we need to be able to send emails via mobile phone.
Please help.

Complaints about desktop version:

-Cannot highlight more than one email to delete or anything, you have to individually click on each email and delete, time consuming...

-You can only choose to have your signature on top or bottom, with composing you would want on top, and with replying to emails, you would want on bottom, again time consuming, copying and pasting signature block each email from top to bottom or vice versa

If there is a quick solution to these please let me know as well

Without being able to see the phone, it sounds like something misconfiguration on the outgoing settings. Look for any mistakes in the username/email address, password, outgoing server name, and port number. Also make sure the SSL/security is set to off.

If you still can't get it to work, you might want to download the K9 app from the Google Play store. Most people have better luck with that app over the stock Google app.

On your desktop, if you want to delete multiple emails at one time, just hold down the Control key, and click the items you wish to delete. Once you have them all selected, then click the delete button.

agreed. No check boxes even to check multiple emails at once. Also, can't customize what info on each email you want to see. But also can't customize what info you want to see on your contacts list. Don't care to see phone numbers, etc...I want to see the email address. I haven't figured out how the contact list works yet.....Auto complete doesn't ever find contacts that are in the list.

On your desktop, if you want to delete multiple emails at one time, just hold down the Control key, and click the items you wish to delete. Once you have them all selected, then click the delete button.

Unfortunately the auto fill feature only works when typing the email address. Overall the email interface is a more basic design. If you are adamant about the features you are missing, you may want to configure an email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird.

There are several features that were in the old system that are not on the new one. Will they be added at some time in the future? The one I really miss is having hyperlinks in the email signature. I had a link to my website and my Facebook page . I was told this past Friday while on On-line Chat that hyperlinks were removed for security reasons. Really? Can I have it back, please...........

I use Outlook Express for my regular email and always used to have my mail to my Homestead account forwarded to my OE account. Not only does it appear that I can no longer do that but it looks my email accounts in Homestead don't even exist any more. Or at least I can't seem to get into them. Homestead email is now totally worthless to me. So no, I DON'T love the new format! I HATE IT!

Across all my devices (iOS and OSX) I get an error message telling me that "The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash) immediately after deleting a message. This did not happen pre "upgrade". Suggestions??
