I have a Samsung Galaxy note 3 and am having trouble syncing to my email. I followed the instructions you all gave for the IMAP settings but here is what is happening:

1. I sometimes get my emails but not reliably. If I haven't gotten them for a day, I remove the email account and then reload it with the instructions you gave. That works for about a day and then the same problem happens where I don't get any emails. It says it updates, but no emails come to my inbox.

2. I've never been able to send email from my phone.

I really need to be able to send and received email from my phone. Thanks.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main topic, so I created a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Galaxy note 3 email.

If you are configuring it as IMAP. You may have to designate that it uses the sent folder on the server. I haven't seen this on Mac Mail but other apple devices do this. Take a look at this thread and let us know if it helps. https://community.homestead.com/homes...

I have Outlook 2013 and I am unable to send messages out with a copy saved as a sent item because when I try to use that setting, I get an error message that says

"The message cannot be saved to your IMAP e-mail account Sent Items folder, because the e-mail server doesn't allow items to be saved to the Sent Items folder."

There is no reference to Outlook 2013 on the FAQs. I need to have this issue resolved. Outlook is only of partial use to me without being able to save my messages in the Sent Items folder.

Can you try the steps here and let me know if it works?

Go to: FILE - Account Settings - Account Settings - Change - More Settings - Advanced

Where it says Folders - Root folder path:
Enter: inbox

I tried that; it didn't make a difference. I have Outlook 2010 also, and for comparison, set up a profile on that version. 2010 works, but 2013 gives the error message I indicated. I've spent over 8 hours with 5 different Microsoft technicians trying to get this working. Consensus is that the problem is with the mail server. Any other suggestions? If I can't get this working, I'm going to have to find another hosting option.

It's not uncommon for people using the 2013 version to run into this problem. It has something to do with how Outlook 2013 handles data files differently than Outlook 2010. This Microsoft page tells the difference: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/out...

A Microsoft tech really should be able to help with with any configuration settings that are out of the ordinary.

You may want to try reconfiguring as if it's a new account. When setting up the new account and you click the "new" link instead of "change" it will likely prompt you to create a new profile (data folder) which you'll want to do. : https://community.homestead.com/homes...

Hi Kevin2944, I see you contacted another rep for this. Let me know if you are still having problems. If your mx records were changed to use domain.com's email then our upgrade would not cause you to lose any emails in the domain.com system. However if your MX records were accidentally changed, we can convert them back and your email should once again become accessible.

I do see the domain.com mx record on your account now so let me know if you are still having trouble. If you have not verified your domain, that would be the next thing to check. Follow the steps here: https://community.homestead.com/homes...

Hey Mike, I am actually still waiting to hear back. Its seems like the upgrade rewrote my domain.com info to reflect homestead info at the time of the transfer back in Sept of 2013. So now Im trying to figure out between both groups where my emails have gone.

There is not an email box in our system so there would be no emails stored with us. You do need to verify the domain as mentioned above and you'll want to do this as soon as possible. Once you do, there's a good chance your emails will start showing up in the domain.com account again.

I can't easily find a button, or pull down to move a received email contact to my Contact file for future use?
I've read the tutorial but still can't identify how to do it?

When you open the email to read it, just right-click on the senders email address, and it will give you an option to add it to your address book.

Very frustrated...one, your phone reps should give a name when they answer the phone. Two, would be great to have them listen to the problem show a small amount of understanding and empathy. Third, working through the problem with me would be great...instead, your rep advised me that it was not a problem with homestead, but my wireless provider. Well, the wireless provider has the same info you gave me - and it still doesn't work. Thanks again for the negative impact to my business & day.

How do you set up our email in one of our company Sprint LG phones? I see the steps for Android, iPhones, etc, but not other phones with email capabilities.

There are literally hundreds of phones on the market so we are only able to provide instructions for the most popular ones. However, the configuration steps are extremely similar on all devices. When you set up the email account, one of the first things you'll usually be prompted for is the account type (IMAP, or POP).

Then you normally just fill in the fields that they provide.

For IMAP
Username = Email Address
Password = your email password
Incoming server = imap.homestead.com
Outgoing server = smtp.homestead.com
Incoming port = 143
Outgoing port = 587
Encryption/SSL = Off

For POP
Username = Email Address
Password = your email password
Incoming server = pop.homestead.com
Outgoing server = smtp.homestead.com
Incoming port = 110
Outgoing port = 587
Encryption/SSL = Off

If this post helps, please give a "Star" and complete this survey to rate me.

Thanks!

Was this upgrade tested and stress tested in a simulated environment representing your current client load? Overall, it seems to have caused a lot of fustration and there seems to me endless questions. I'm still not confident I am receiving all my emails on a daily basis but I have followed all the instructions and feedback from the Homestead staff. I will have to wait and see but it does seem very odd. Thanks for all your help, Mike

While I heard that rolling migration would happen... I assumed that we would be notified when we (and our client sites) would be moved. NOT!

We have hours of work to recreate the distribution lists... which we would have wanted to plan for. Now we have to blow our schedule for the day to redoo this!

For example - we have a client that deals w/elderly that uses a mail list for 911 to multiple individuals, we don't know what time Homestead deleted their group, but hope there are no lawsuits.

We are sorry if you didn't see the emails, but we did send an email prior to the migration and then again after. Where was the list created? We might be able to get it for you.

BTW - Email Brain cannot create distribution lists that offer redirects to multiple individuals (e.g. if you wanted info@yoursite.com to go to a few people in your company).

I am not sure what you mean, but there are other email marketing companies. If Emailbrain, doesn't suit your needs, then maybe another one will.

I am having trouble sending e-mails, it says they are not saving to sent folder but are sent, but then when I try to exit out of the message it says that the e-mail was not send. Please help! I can not respond to my customers with urgent information.

Are there separate instructions to change the server setting in Thunderbird??

There are several different versions of Outlook, but this page has instructions for the most recent versions. There are instructions for both POP and IMAP configurations, but, the actual exchange configuration is not possible without using a 3rd party application called Oxtender.

I FINALLY have the new email working with my OUTLOOK, and all my old emails were there until 2 weeks ago. Now all of my old emails are lost.

I use Outlook 2013. Do you know how to get the old email files back?

Lynette5883,

Can you verify if you are looking at the correct sub-folders? If you set up Outlook with an IMAP account then they should be in a sub-folder of the inbox as shown on this page: https://community.homestead.com/homes...

Let us know if you are still unable to see them.

Mike,
I am looking at my Outlook 2013 folders and I don't see any sub-folders. Do you have an email address that I can send a print screen of my inbox for you to see it?

You can post images here using the "Add Image" button in the lower corner of the Reply box below. However, can you tell me if you set up Outlook with a POP or IMAP configuration. If it's POP, the folders won't sync.

Mike
