With the old email tool I use to be able to start typing a person's email address in the "To" line and the email would pop up. Now nothing happens.  Have I lost this capability?

Me too.  What is Roundcube?  What happened to Homestead e-mail?  Why wasn't this information communicated?  What's going on here?

Roundcube is the new webmail program. You should be able to type the email address or name and have it start the autofill.  Check the address book to see if there are contacts. If not, let us know and we will provide more instructions.

Thanks,

I never received any communication from Homestead and this has been the case with each and every system change or similar.  Now there are acronyms being tossed around - cvard and similar - that require explanations.  And...there are clearly steps that need to be taken before this system change...what are they?

The conversion has been stopped. There should be no need to do anything at this time. I am sorry if you did not receive an email, but it was sent. I am not sure what happened to it for you. This is the case with any major change to the systems.

vcard is an export format and should not be required at all, but is available to you to back up the data in Open Xchange. You can see how in this topic. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how_do_i_export_my_contacts_into_a_csv_file_from_th... Although those instructions are for a csv, it is better to choose vcard. Other than the selection the directions are the same.

Thanks Drew.  Will see if I can decipher this but please communicate with some advance notification when this system change will occur.  Given that I did not receive this communication or previous ones, how do you suggest that I am ensured of receiving this information?

Drew N, The problems have been consistent with all (4) the email accounts that I have associated with adamephoto.com  In case that helps.

Sorry, I just tried it several times. And now can't even log in at all.  I even tried logging into my homestead website account management  first and then logging into email from there. Not working. Disheartening. Some of us, due to fear of loosing all of our contacts and old email have stuck it out with you through years of problems and mis-information. But is at this point the critical data is lost anyway, it may be time to look for a new website host. That is more reasonably priced and offers better service.

Loss of this this critical business data is the ONLY thing that has kept me paying such high rates, and dealing with constant (at least weekly) website down issues, FOR OVER 3 YEARS. After the acquisition by Intuit, from a great family run business that never failed us. I've had my homestead account for 20 years. So sad.

There should be no loss of data at all. When I log in to your email from your account, I get logged in to OX and there are tons of emails and contacts in there. What happens when you try to log in from the Homestead account?

If I log in from here now, it's working.  Earlier I got a blank white page, with Invalid Code written on the browser tab. Never seen anything like it before. I am now able to log in from the OX Log in page.
As I mentioned above, and as you saw, I have years of correspondence for back-up data on client contracts. With this scare this week, the past history, and the unknown future, I will try to find a way to download all the emails.  If I can't copy them electronically and store somewhere, I'll have to print them all.  Do you know if it's possible to export the actual emails?  I understand if it's not possible.  But my confidence is rattled so I will be looking at options to archive. Thank You

I understand. Having back ups is always good. You could configure a client like Outlook or Thunderbird to download the messages. If you use POP settings the program will download emails to your computer. It will not download contacts or calendars. There will be a setting in the program that will tell the program not to delete the message from the server. Make sure you use that so that the messages will be in Roundcube when converted. The conversion itself will not affect the data under OX, so we will be able to access that in case of any issue, but we do not believe there will be any additional issues.

Oops! meant to provide the address link to the page I was logging in from, while logged in to my Homestead Website account. It's
https://www.homestead.com/~site/jws/myEmails.action
But I'm sure your familiar with that link. It works every other time I try.  Hope this helps you guys see what happened after the change to Roundcube.  When it works, takes me to my email in OX.

If I log in directly using the OX Log in Page, it seems to be consistently working for the last  hour or so. Using this Log in Page:

After over an hour of digging through all the conversation titles, I finally found your conversations from days ago Drew N where you recommend logging in with the OX homepage here https://emailmg.homestead.com/ox6/ox.html.  This would have been helpful from the start. I really don't understand how logging into my Homestead website management account and then the email account couldn't work (as it always did) and this OS link does.  But at least now, I am now able log in. As I mentioned in the other thread. Homestead should give us more info in advance. Drew N., I would not to be in your position.  It appears you are the ONLY contact that is responding on the help site.  Either you are being forced to handle 100's of questions or Homestead no longer has very many clients. Such a disappointing situation.

I have been told that the issue of the conversion has been resolved and they are running some today. They plan on completing it next week. I have no way to request a hold on any accounts. The developers and mail administrators will start up again once they have confirmed the new procedure.

You're welcome. I'll always give the best I have, but unfortunately I don't always hear things right away.

I just accessed our webmail after an absence of several weeks.  All of my contact information has disappeared, the address book is empty and we have a new email client.  How do I retrieve the long contact list I had with the names and email addresses of people in our organization?

I didn't receive info about Roundcube either- especially no notice that it would suddenly change overnight, I can't figure out how to change font or sizes and my email groups are missing from my address book!! My searches come up empty, it will take hours to manually look up everyones address and make a new listserv, I needed that group of addresses tonight, and it was gone- where are the instructions??  It is not intuitive at all...

The lists could not be moved. You can log in to the old system to see which addresses were in the lists, but you will need to create the contact groups to create new lists. There is a limit to 25 addresses per list for sending purposes. https://emailmg.homestead.com/ox6/ox.html
