I am interested in connecting a FileMaker 11 database to my Homestead website.  I am fairly familiar with Instant Web Publishing (although rusty) so I think I am just looking for what I do with SiteBuilder to make the link to the IP address of the machine containing the database.

I did this once years ago but things have changed.

Homestead does not support databases and so has no tools to integrate with a database hosted elsewhere. You would need to make queries via HTML code.

I may be misunderstanding, but I don't think I need Homestead to 'support' the database, which is running on my computer; I just need a link on my Homestead website that would take someone to that IP address?  Hopefully my ignorance isn't showing (too badly).

You can create a link to any URL. If it is an IP address that should work. You might have to open a port in your network. Do you pay for a static IP address? If not, your IP could change over time. You can link to an IP just by entering it in the URL to link to. http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
