I am considering filing a class action lawsuit for the business i have lost from over two weeks of continued problems with my clients inability to contact me. Are others interested in being a party to this lawsuit?

I'm in! I know for certain I lost 3 clients because of the emails not getting to me for me to respond, they thought I was unprofessional because I hadn't responded!!

If you are interested in pursuing this idea, please email me at dgr73400@gmail.com (that way I know I will actually RECEIVE the email)... I will then forward you a link for providing some data that we will use to evaluate the lawsuit direction. This is beyond crazy!

Homestead does not cooperate by responding to email inquiries. The original ad said I could cancel add-on services at any time. I emailed 3 different times to cancel and in 10 days Homestead still charged my credit card for $49.97. In addition, it takes an hour (it seems) for my homestead published website to load on the internet. For me, the money is better spent on another webhost with a kinder attitude.

yes, the damage homestead has created for all of us is imersurable and will not be fully know to us for months. homesteads lack of cutomer sevice has been diplorable at best.

This email issue is killing me. I'm sure many of us are small business owners and need to keep our clients happy and respond in a timely fashion. Some of the emails sent to me are not getting received until several days later!! I am losing the trust of my customers with this issue. WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG TO RESOLVE?!?! What's more frustrating is seeing messages that the final repair is in place and still having problems on my end. Email was working fine until about 10:30 or so my time (Eastern). Customer service is NO help.

As per the employee suggestion on another thread, I called the Homestead 800 # today & explained to them that I lost customers & revenue due to the email issues. They offered me fair compensation for my losses. Much faster & easier then a class-action lawsuit. I feel they understand the problem they caused, and are willing to deal with the reparations fairly. Lawsuits are for entities who do not recognize that they did wrong and are unwilling to make it right. This is not the case here, at least in my opinion.

I aclled and they offered me a 440 refund... that is an insult. I spent 40 hours fixing this problem and just triying to send and receive emails. Stick with the Class action !

Does it do a business email.... for example: your name@domain name.com?

Does it offer push/exchange email? Homestead does not as of yet.

I have 5 websites and 4 email accounts with homestead....as a PAYING customer of over 4 years, I feel that I have been both loyal and patient. Have tried calling only to waste my time waiting for 20min with no one answering the call. We operate several wedding businesses, so ONE lost customer can mean a $3000, yes thousands loss. NOT happy.

don't waste your time figuring it out. I've already switched to google business emails.
I am losing business but a class action would proably net us $10.00 each.

I am absolutely interested. This email problem has been off and on since March. March! I have lost track of how many times I've replied to these threads, and not been helped by Homestead. I've given up even asking for help. Just trying to do the best I can with my customers, want to move to another web provider but don't know where to go.

Less than 2 years ago I paid to have my site built. I didn't and don't have the knowledge to build on my own. Now I'm being asked to spend more of my time or money to work on a new site. I work 3 jobs just to make ends meet and don't have the resources to commit to any deadlines. I'm feeling really duped and deceived right now. I signed up with Intuit, not Big Commerce

Yes tami the other thing is I only signed back up with Homestead a few months before xmas due to having to close down with an illness. They would have known then that this migration was going to take place but said nothing and let me procede to waste my time setting up with prostores only to have it shut down.

I will be in on this for sure. This transition has cost me considerable money as I am based in Australia. The amount of money I spent in phone calls alone trying to get my site up and running so I could do at least some trading for xmas was collosal.
I paid a vast amount of money advertising in magazines that I was having a xmas sale only to locked out of my site and could not do it.
The fact these people keep trying to skip around is that most homestead clients dont realise that any excisting customers that had used or broused your store before it was changed could not get in to your sites because they had a memory of the old site storedin their internet brouser history and cookies. If they did not know to clear this or even how to clear this as most computer novices dont know then all they were getting when trying to get to our stores wasa message saying STORE CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE. Most of my customerswere just waiting for me to finnish the non excistent maintenance a re open the store for the sale.
I had emails from customers accusing me of scamming, wasting there time etc.
Ive spent years building a reputation for service and this has damaged it severly.

Just got a message from Homestead basicly telling that the customers that had viewed your old store that dont have a computer that automatically deletes History and Cookies or dont manualy do it themselves may never be able to access the new site basicly. So in a nutshell they have basicly inadvertantly done the same thing to us as altering your domain name would do. This is deplorable and the cost involved cant be measured.
I dont care if I get nothing out of the class action as long as these people are made pay for what they have done. They want me to call there accounts department to try and claim a refund ??? this in itself shows the complete diregard for customer help they have. i have explained to them meny times it costs me a fortune to call them from Australia so the respectfull thing for them to do would be call me. Still nothing from them.

I am based in Australia too, I have had the same intermittent faults that everybody else has been reporting. Calling their help line proved to be too expensive. I had to give up and use this community posting board.

I am currently looking for a new host with good options. My brother (who is an IT specialist for several schools) has recommended a group called www.digitalpacific.com.au . I have contacted them and they are more than happy to do all the hard work in making a smooth transaction from Hoestead to themselves free of charge (or for a small fee if migrating a whole website). They have actual 24/7 customer service and help, they also accept emails (you don't have to post and then wait). and if your caught in the trap of not being able to migrate a website (cause it was built with Hoesteads sitebuilder, they have over 250 Oneclick apps to build your own.

I will update you when I make the jump (next few days).

If this is a serious remedy, I'm in also. I cannot believe the unprofessionalism that has emerged with this migration. Some of the stories that I have read are by far worse than mine but I know the problems that I'm having and it's very frustrating.

I'm currently searching for another host as well as a new merchant account...starting from scratch...oh what fun!
