Yes, Homestead. Please bring back chat. One of the reasons I went back to Homestead was because of the very nice, helpful chat team. Questions through the community home don't do me a lot of good because I mostly see "questions" but few "answers". So it would be welcoming to return to the excellent personal contact that was a part of the Homestead service. Thanks!

Although I am a charter member this incident is seriously causing me to consider another provider if I didn't have so much money on outside advertising linking back to my profitable domain.  I have tried to deal with the Chrome not liking the SSL Cert issue by signing up and doing the "cloud" recommended by Homestead with NO SUCCESS Homestead is NOT returning my emails (I don't do phones) Oh I miss the chat feature.  http://winthelottery.homestead.com is showing up in every browser but Google Chrome (which I use alot) I added nor changed nothing on the home page so I want homestead support to fix whatever the issues are on their end I should have to buy, sign up, or install anything just work it out on your end I am a tech and deal enough with others my own should be covered when I have been paying for years.  I hope Homestead TECH SUPPORT IS READING THIS.

I tried the above solution also that Elyzabeth recommended apparently the online site builder won't let me access anything so once again I say homestead do it from your end. - Thanks

this is the response from Elyzabeth . . . In regard to the site being secure, unfortunately since you are just using the .homestead.com site name, we are unable to give that HTTPS capability. You would either need to purchase a domain, which we can make secure through a company called Cloudflare, or rebuild your site in our newer builder, Website Builder, where we are able to secure the site name (.homesteadcloud.com) now my question is can it be transferred if I rebuild can the data be transferred since its still homestead I have to much work invested to rebuild for only one browser.

winthelottery.homestead.com is doing the same thing in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Edge. It is redirecting to another site because of HTML on your page. I cannot fix this for you, as we cannot touch 3rd party HTML. If it is not coming up in your version of Chrome, my best recommendation would be to check for an update, maybe your version of Chrome is not up to date. If it is working on every browser except one, then it would make sense to look for an issue with the browser it isn't working on, it is not an issue from Homestead. If it was a Homestead issue, it would not work on every browser. If you rebuild your site in the newer builder, nothing is able to be transferred because it is a completely different system. You would need to re-upload any files or images.

What happens when you try to open Sitebuilder Plus?

In regard to the emails you aren't receiving responses to, we don't provide email support. I am not sure what address you are sending these emails to, but no one is checking them.

To the staff @ Homestead as previously mentioned I am a charter member with Homestead as well as a computer tech I write this post only to say I made a crucial MISTAKE and that was to allow myself to go to "customer service" with this issue.  With that I mean this since I have faithfully paid for my website for over a decade I thought Homestead would solve the problem.  Instead every reader of this forum has received the same response their was "code" on your site that needs to be removed.  OK the tech in me found it and removed it.  But this is not the SERVICE that I came to Homestead and loved about HOmestead.  Many readers are not techs and back in the day we didn't even enter the original "code" (some helpful back in the day they existed) customer service person from Homestead did it for us.  So I say help the Non Techs who did like and want to continue using homestead with doing or supplying the steps to remove issues vs just telling us what the issues are bc many of us can read the issues when we get error messages.
BTW 3rd party companies recommended like the cloud etc only made me (and I'm sure others) out there more furious - end PSA

Great idea !    Bring back the live chat !    We are based in Sydney, Australia and it would be extremely helpful to have a live chat facility pop up on screen instead of phone calls.    As well, the community chat is helpful and people are great but it might take four days to resolve an issue when a live chat option could provide instant resolution.  Much better.

Yes, please bring back live chat. Drew is wonderful but can not keep awake 24/7 . We are in Sicily and phone has international connection charges. Hours are not convenient for overseas clients.

I've been with you since 2002. You can't introduce features then take them away. That isn't good customer service. Live Chat was one of the only reasons I stayed with Homestead. So many other issues. I can't even find my website to edit right now. So frustrating!

Live chat would be great and it may be asking too much bu I would also like to see some Saturday hours as well. My business and website is 24/7 65 and sometimes I need help that are not during the 9-5 Mon-Fri hours. Especially when it is an issue that has to deal with a website going down or something not working correctly. I have been with the company since 2007 and I remember when they had later hours and weekend hours, It was great and customer service was always helpful and accommodating. I may have to look for another company with better support and extended hours because I cannot have my website down over a weekend.

ANYTHING that will allow for tech/account support would be nice!  I've tried over and over to call, get on their unmanned hold forever and never get a human.  Do they have an email so we can send questions now that there is no chat?  I'm guessing they are trying to phase out Homestead all together - eliminating ways to contact them would not make sense otherwise :(

I am not sure which number you called, but we typically do not have a long hold time. 10 minutes at most, but usually there is no wait. For future reference, use 800-710-1998
We are not phasing anything out, we removed the chat feature because it was not being used very much. You can call for support, or post any questions here and you will receive an answer.

Do you have something you need help with?

In reply to the comments recently concerning chat. Yes, I liked chat. But I have found that when I ask a question, I get back an answer in a timely manner--usually by the next day. And it almost always answers my needs. So, I want to keep a positive outlook. I love the freedom I have with designing my pages on Homestead's sitebuilder. I trust that they will be around for a long time. Thanks to support for the help you provide!

This is absolutely ridiculous to not have any way to help someone. This site has gone way down hill and I will be suggesting to my clients to invest in moving their website to another hosting site that allows for answers without having to get frustrated over the sea of chat conversations to find a solution.

You can create a new question, so you don't have to look through existing conversations, or you can call us and get help by speaking with someone 800-710-1998.

I can ́t believe Homestead hasn ́t a Live Chat anymore, as any other website. Simple, it ́s a shame. Many customers (in my case, since 2003), feel that Homestead hasn ́t staff at all, and it ́s ruled automatically as a great Money Maker. Shame.

We used to have a Live Chat option, and it was not utilized. Out of all of our customers, we do not have many people requesting this feature. If you would like support, you are welcome to call 800-710-1998 or post your question on the Community and you will receive a response there.

Hi Elyzabeth.  Indeed, you answered my open question in just 5 minutes. So, you ́re right. But I suggest Homestead to post clear that questions posted on this ̈Community ̈ will be answered anyway by Homestead ́s Staff.   It ́s pretty confusing to feel that your customer ́s questions will be, maybe, answered (some day...) by... another customers when, reality is, you ́ll answer them.

Thanks a lot.

There may not be a live chat option, but it isn't as if there is no support.  At any point, you are free to post your own questions which will be answered as soon as possible.
