I didnt want to delete my current website www.omturtleyoga.com to work on a new one so I created a new website omturtle.homesteadcloud.com. I want to attach that new website to my domain www.omturtleyoga.com. I have changed the site association and even did the fix suggested by adding and deleting 1 then check availability for the "page not found" error and it still doesnt change to the new website design. Even after several hours of waiting. I see a blue box that says wwww.omturtleyoga.com thats it. I switched it back due to customer complaints of not being able to sign up for classes. I want to use the new design but I dont want to lose all the web traffic Ive earned on this old domain/website but I need a fresh look. Im hoping all it is, is a quick point to a new design and I missed something. Can you help?

Hello,

The reason you did not see it showing the first time you did it is because the name servers are still pointing to cloud flare and the DNS points to Sitebuilder. Since WebsiteBuilder has its own SSL I can thange the name servers back to homestead and update the DNS to WebsiteBuilder. This will take a little bit of time to show because we are changing DNS settings but it will point to your new site and show secure. Is this okay to proceed with?

I can complete the connection for you. I do see a new domain omturtle.com is connected to the new site. Do you want both domains omturtle.com and omturtleyoga.com to connect to the same site?

Perfect, I got it all set up. Please allow 20 minutes for both domains to connect but both omturtle.com and omturtleyoga.com are connected and will show as a secure site.

I also need to change the name servers back to homestead and update the DNS to WebsiteBuilder but  forgot how. I switched the site association to www.tangledvinefarm.homesteadcloud.com already. Can you help direct me in this?

Hello Cassie,

You can change the name servers back to homestead with the instructions here https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how-do-i-change-the-nameservers-for-my-domain just select reset to default and they will revert back.

Okay great! Thank you. I'm seeing comments about the email which I do use. How do I point new settings to my email account?

( I can't believe it is so easy to make these changes with your instructions.  I have confidence because I set them to get the Cloudflare security certificate when that was new.)

If you are using Homesteads email with your domain there is no need to change anything. When resetting the name servers to default, this also keeps the email records pointing to Homestead and will stay connected.

I do want to confirm something, when we point your domain to WebsiteBuilder we will remove any sub domains set up with the domain is this okay?

To Be honest I’m not really sure what the subdomains do so yes

No problem, I got it all set up. Just allow a little bit of time but the site will be coming up and showing secured very soon.
