For the past 2 days, I can log in to one of my email addresses with no problem, but the other address gives a "login failed" message whether I try to log in from Homestead, or from Roundcube or from the shortcut I have been using for a long time (at least 2 years). The email that is working is studio@jorebeka.com. The one that isn't working is sales@jorebeka.com. Because it's only happening on one email, I can't imagine it is something that has changed on my side. Is there any other workaround for getting into that email? What can I do to resolve this? Thanks!

The system changed your password as a bunch of suspicious emails were sent from sales@jorebeka.com. Did you send a bulk email recently? Please scan your computer with a current security program and then change your password.

How can I change my password when I can't get into the email system? Please advise!

I never send bulk emails. The computer has actually been offline for about a day and a half due to modem issues. It was doing the login fail before the modem went offline, and was still doing it when I got back online yesterday. Help!

No there is no way to know who they messaged, but it seems unlikely they mailed any contacts from your account. They probably work off a list they have already, so I wouldn't be overly concerned now that you have a new password.

It probably isn't necessary to change the Homestead password, but it is always a good idea to switch them once in a while. I have some things that I change 3-4 times per year just to be safe.

Thank you! So, how would they have gotten my credentials? Do they have a sort of random generator that tries different passwords ( seems unlikely) or did they somehow hack into Homestead and harvest some email addresses, or what? The two accounts both had the same password, but the one that was hacked is displayed on my website ( which only gets minimal traffic)?

There is no way for us to know. Could be a virus or spyware, which is why we advise you run a scan. Could be a guess(if your password was not strong).

I would not be too concerned. It happens to many people. If it happens again, then we should get more concerned and see if we can delve deeper into the cause.

Thanks ~ ran a system scan and came up completely clean. If there is a recurrence I'll let you know. Thanks for your help!
