Two weeks ago our website (patriciahuttongalleries.com) was suspended, not because of an incorrect contact email address but because AOL blocked the ICANN/Verizon verification requests.  That was fixed by changing the Domain contact address to a non-AOL address.
About 4 days ago (1/19/2015), the Verizon link to the Websites Manager no longer worked.  We get an SSO error or a failure to render message.  If instead we try to login directly to Homestead, we are redirected back to the Verizon login page.

Today, thinking that this might be a contact address conflict, I changed the Verizon Contact address AND the domain contact address to one verizon.net address.  However, that didn't fix the problem.

Homestead tech support has said this is caused by a Homestead issue but need to work with Verizon to fix it, but neither company seems to have made any progress.

I am also concerned that there aren't hundreds of people in this forum with the same complaint.  That leads me to believe this is not a generic issue and we are the only customer with this problem.  What's going on?

I will look into this for you. When you changed the email you would have initiated the domain verification again, so make sure to switch back to the one you verified or verify the new one. I will find out about the link. It might have to do with our recent migration to a new data center.

We have been on the phone with Verizon and Homestead tech support for at least 4 hours on each of the last 3 days.  Isn't there a way that Homestead can set up a temporary user name and password to get access to SiteBuilder Plus?  I know that people within Homestead are able to edit our site because on of your tech's even offered to make changes for us.  If that were as simple as changing the weekend hours, we would have accepted his offer.  However, we need to add a new page and edit our artists page to add the name and link it to the page.  I think that's too complicated to do over the phone.

I am looking into your idea, though it is rarely as easy as it sounds. Agents are able to bypass the entire process of logging in but we have to be behind our firewall to do so.

Drew,
As time goes on, with only one "Me Too" to this post, I have to believe this is not a generic issue, but it's somehow related to the "Client Hold" placed on our domain by Verizon around Jan. 15, 2015.  When we finally received a copy of the last notification of the request to verify our domain contact email address, it included a log giving the dates and addressee for each of the previous requests.  In addition to sending these requests to our listed AOL contact address, starting on 01/07/2015 a two requests were sent to mailto:hostmaster@homesteadsupport.com. This leads me to believe that your Hostmaster enabled a client hold after Verizon had already released the hold.  Please check.

It is not possible for us to create a hold or clear a hold on Verizon domains. Also, our system doesn't care if you have a domain(verified or not) or don't have a domain. This issue has to do with the hand off between Verizon and Homestead. We are working with Verizon to see if we can track it down. While there aren't many reports, you are not the only one. A few others have come through other channels.

Is Homestead still working to fix this issue?  It's been a week and we have not heard anything from either Homestead or Verizon.  We have some important edits to make and we don't even know if anyone is trying to fix this.

Would it be possible to move or copy all of our web pages to a new Homestead account and have us deal directly with Homestead?  Could we use the same domain name but with .net instead of .com at the end?  I understand there is a method for those visitors who type in our old .com address would be automatically directed to the new .net website.  Is this correct?

Then, once the new site is up and running, could we delete the old site?

Hello LCHutton4510,

We do not have an update with the Verizon issue as of yet. We are working to find a solution to the issue. As far as moving to a Homestead account, would you be able to create a new private post regarding that?

I posted a private message 01/28/2015 but can't find a way to view it.  I just need to know that it was received and an answer if being developed.

No word yet.  Also, due to ongoing issues with Verizon our wwe had to migrate our account so User ID and password have changed.  The only promising part is when we click on the Website Manager link, we are directed to a Homestead page (but still with vzwebsites in the URL) saying it might take 24 hours before we can access our account.
