I am trying to cancel my account. The link provided does not work. I want to cancel and stop all charges.

Yes - I tried several times using both Firefox and Safari.  I am getting the same error that others have posted - the link does not work and it comes back with a server error message.

I just tried it again on both Firefox and Safari and the link still does nothing.  I don't want to have to deal with adding Chrome to try to cancel an account.  Clearly others are having the same issue.

I haven't heard. Most clients are using Chrome.

I am trying to cancel my account as well. How does Homestead know if we cannot get the button to work? Where can I call? I need to cancel account and remove all charges. I used Chrome, Firefox and edge. The button did nothing on any of those browsers.

Despite the fact that the button looks like it isn't working, it did set your account to close. It will close before your next bill and you will not be billed again.

I have had the same problem. I want to cancel the account, but the button does nothing. And when I tried the "opt out auto-renewal" button, I got an error message saying, "You have experienced an unexpected server error. We are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. Please try again later."
This is infuriating! There needs to be a confirmation screen to confirm that the account is cancelled, and an email follow-up as well.

I definitely understand your concern. Checking into your account, I do see it is set to cancel, so nothing else needs to be done and you will receive no further billing from this account.

I'm trying to cancel my account as well and the Cancel button doesn't work.  There's no "click" and no confirmation that anything has happened.  I can only assume that my account is not cancelled.  And, Homestead doesn't have a phone number to call to resolve this quickly.  My credit card is scheduled to be charged again in 8 days, which of course I will be charging back.
I know that you want to make it difficult to cancel your services, but come on!  You are an internet technology company.  The Buttons should work, yes?

I am sorry Mike8651. It is not meant to be difficult. Despite the lack of feedback it does close the account. Your account will not be charged again.

I also cannot close my account due to this error.  I have already transferred my domain elsewhere  and I STILL cannot close my account, remove billing information, or find a phone number to call to fix this!  For anyone reading this, AVOID USING HOMESTEAD, this is an extremely shady business practice.  This is ridiculous and clearly attempting to confuse people into continuing to pay for services they no longer want.  At this point I'm not sure what to do other than to call my CC company and report the charges as fraud.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. We recently changed the way customers can cancel their account by adding the option to "close before next bill date" instead of close immediately. We do know of the current bug where it doesn't give feedback that your account is set to close, and are actively working on it. We are definitely not trying to "confuse people into continuing to pay for services they no longer want". Looking at your account, I see it is set to close before next bill date, and you will not be billed again.

Same problem as a lot of others are voicing.  Trying to cancel account, button doesn't work, no feedback that account is really being closed down and charges will stop.  Would like some assurance that my credit card will no longer be charged.

I too am trying to cancel and when I click the button it goes no where.  My account was charged today and I expect that it will be refunded as well.  Please advise if account is actually closed.

I've manually closed the account so that will go through sooner, you'll see the refund process through your bank in 5-7 business days.

Ok, I certainly understand. We can definitely get this account closed. Before I do, are you still using the domain smutrailers.com?
The reason I ask is because I see you have it pointed to a new site at Wix, but the domain is still registered with Homestead. If you are still using this domain with your new IT people, closing the Homestead account will bring your site down.

It's just a domain that we thought we would use, but never actually did anything with it. Thank you for confirming it is closed.

I have the SAME THING happening with my account.  The {Yes, Cancel My Account} button is not responding?!  I don't want to be charged on my next bill date 08/10/18.  I don't see a "close before next bill date" option like stated?  PLEASE CONFIRM THAT MY ACCOUNT IS CANCELLED.  sunshinepreschoolmaui.com 
I am shocked with Homesteads Fraudulent Business!  At this point with NO Contact Number to resolve this issue, I will have to call my Bank and report the charges as fraud!

We are aware of the issue with the button, and already have a ticket out to get this fixed as soon as possible. We are definitely not trying to commit fraud, it is simply a system error we are already working on. In the future, if you need a number for Homestead, there is one at the top of our website at homestead.com or you can always Google search Homestead Customer Support that will give you our number as well.

As to your account, I do see that it is set to close before next bill date and you will not be charged again. Let me know if there is anything else we can do to help you.
