I have images that I don't want visitors to be able to copy from my site. Can I do anything to prevent visitors from stealing them?

Yes, you can add code to prevent visitors from stealing images or photos from your site. This will stop customers from being able to use the right-click menu to save an image that's on your page.

Important: All browsers read code differently so this code may not prevent image stealing on all browsers. The only way to truly protect your images is to use a Watermark any time you post a picture to the web.

To disable the right-click menu
  1. Start in the Website editor

  2. Open the page that has the images you want to protect.

  3. In the toolbar, click Insert and click More.

  4. Click HTML.

  5. In the HTML Settings pane to the right, click Enter or Paste HTML.

  6. Enter the following code: <body oncontextmenu="return false;">

  7. Save the page.

Hope that helps!

Regarding Right Click. If a person knows how to highlight you text, they can use the keys Ctrl C and copy your info.

If you text is so important that it is worth protecting, Google has a program that allows you to registar your text. If your artical and keywords, carry the most wieght, you will come up first the SEO.

Regarding Copy pictures. The only way to stop or slow copy pictures is to watermark them. Any can place a mouse over a picture and drag it to the Desktop.

Anbody can click on Image Properties and find exactly where that picture is located on the Internet.

Hi,

Here is a great site that gives some different options to disable right click. JCBling is correct that anyone that knowns html code could tecnically grab your images from source code, but for more novice people, the no right click will work.

Hi Blutac,

Thanks for posting! It looks like you might have been attempting to share some html code with the community. When you do that, I recommend clicking this (some HTML allowed) link

and then using the code provided so that you can show the code.

We really appreciate our customers that are actively participating in the community. Hope this helps!

When I goto my published site and browse the photo gallery I notice I can right click and save the photo. How can I fix this so it is not possible to save them?
