I am redesigning my website and would like to import the images I have stored on my original Homestead site to the new one. Is there anyway to do that without importing them one at a time?

Hi Vicki2998 -

Thanks for writing in! Though you cannot add multiple images onto the pages at the same time, you CAN import multiple images into your File Manager, so you wouldn't have to browse through your computer each time.

Here's how:

Getting started
Click Websites Manager on the left, then click Edit Site to go to the editor.

Steps to take

  1. Click the web address menu and click View File Manager.

  1. To bring in files, you have two options. You can:

  • Drag and drop the files you want to bring into SiteBuilder. Left-click the file you want to move and release the button when you've moved the file to File Manager. (Note:┬áThis option only works on Firefox 4 or higher, Chrome, and Safari.)

Or

  • In File Manager, click Import.

  1. Choose the file or files you would like to import from your computer.

To upload multiple files or images, you can select files that are grouped together or not grouped together. To select a file, use your mouse and click on the file.

  • Import files that are grouped together. Select the first file and then press and hold down the Shift key and select the last file in the group of files.

  • Import files that are not grouped together. Select the first file and then press and hold down the Ctrl key while selecting the additional files.

  1. Click Open.

  2. Wait for the file or files to finish uploading. This may take several minutes if you have large files you are importing.

  3. After your file is brought into SiteBuilder, you'll see an ! upload message on the right. Here's an example. <![CDATA[ ]]>

]

  1. Close the File Manager by clicking the gray x in the upper right hand corner of the File Manager.

  2. Work with the files or images in your website. When you're ready, publish your site.

Note:When you upload a large image and then work with it on your site, we will ask you if you want to make the image smaller with the This Image Is Too Large window. We recommend clicking Yes, to make your image smaller and help your pages load faster.
