I am  having a Bitdefender warning come up everytime I access my website Williamsinspain.com, AMBiblia.com and several others. Something to do with a certificate that does not coincide with web4.realtracker.com

I visited both sites and noticed that the url's were http and not https. That could be the problem and it could be a safety function of your Bitdefender anti-virus. Some anti-virus programs do not like url's with http and react accordingly.

You could adjust your anti-virus so http is considered safe but in my opinion you should strongly consider securing your websites so your urls are https compliant. The directions in the following link are for sitebuilder plus. If you're using sitebuilder desktop you may be able to get your sites secured but the security will only last a day or so...If that long.

If your sites are build with website builder I'm sure Michelle C, who works for homestead will be happy to help you.

Good luck.

Hello William,

The information that Steve has provided is absolutely correct. The reason you are seeing this warning is because you have not set up a SSL or security certificate on your domain name. You can follow the steps in this article to set up a SSL for each domain. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https

Well, if that's the case, then you need to update this webpage as well, because the warning came up when I access this topics page. I have attached the Bitdefender warning which is in Spanish, but I will translate it below:
Suspicious Connection Blocked
Characteristic: Prevention of online threat
Chrome.exe has tried to establish a connection trusting in a certificate that does not coincide with web4.tracker.com. We have blocked the connection to maintain your data secure in view of the fact that the certificate utilized was emitted for a web address different from that of the destined site. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/bitdefender-warning-everytime-i-access-one-of-my-websites?utm_source=notification&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=new_reply&utm_content=reply_button&reply[id]=20403076

web4tracker is a commonly used program on millions of websites. It's a program that provides the all important visitor information to a stats page. Another common one is realtracker.

Why does it flag a response with your anti-virus? It could be a number of reasons. Most likely it's simply the default setting on the program. It would be a good idea to read ALL the documentation that came with your Bitdefender anti-virus program.

Most anti-virus programs are not really simply plug & play. They're more like putting a turbocharger on a car. There are adjustments that should be made and some of them might require adjustments on individual websites.

As an example of how sensitive some anti-virus programs are; If your website is https compliant and you have a link to another website on your page that is still using http only, your visitor's anti-virus could throw a red flag up when they visit your website.

Ok, I have accessed CloudFlare and have made the changes to the nameservers for my WilliamsInSpain.com site. I will wait until Monday or Tuesday to see if the changes take effect to see if it secures my site and solves my problem.

Sounds good. Make sure all steps after step 10 are completed to ensure the SSL is turned on. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https
