I would like to 'fine tune' Categories on the new Big Commerce site and wondered what the best practice would be so I am not creating a broken link?

Specifically I would be combining the products from two sub-cats into one and deleting the other.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Recreating the categories as you described should not create any problems, unless you've manually created links to category pages that will no longer exist. Did you do that? Please explain if I'm not understanding your question correctly.

On renaming, I see how the system is automatically redirecting and that is great. I was wondering the impact of deleting a category - is there a way of redirecting that link (within the new store) to the combined category? (The reason I ask is I had several pages in Sitebuilder that I deleted some time ago (maybe years) and they still show up as broken links - I never knew how to redirect them...)

(edit post) gave more thought to what you posted - all the links (from old Categories) are dynamic, but if I delete a category in the new store - what will happen?

If you have the url's, you could create 301 redirects to avoid the "page not found" errors. Follow this topic; https://community.homestead.com/homes...
