I am looking to center my background. My background settings are set to "center align." I have images, text and background set up looking just as I want in my sitebuilding page.

When I preview my page there is a problem....the background image is aligned to the left and repeats on the right edge. This throws the background off from the rest of the image and text.

Years ago I had a site through homestead and had this same issue. I was given some kind of html or java to plug in and it fixed the problem. I have searched the internet on how to fix and have got myself all confused. My strengths are illustration and animation. My weakness.....html and web design!!! Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jamiec8882,

Sorry for the confusion, this is a common question. The Centering feature basically centers all the content on your page, but not the actual background image. When you import an image using the background feature, it automatically places the image at the upper left corner of the screen. Then when someone stretches their browser window the other content centers, but the background starts to repeat in a 'tile effect".

To get around this, just change the background to a solid color, then go back to the editor and import the same background image as a regular picture. Once you have it on the page you can resize it, and layer it behind all the other contents on the page.

Let me know if you need more detailed instructions and I'll be happy to help you out.
