I have a shape that tuns across my page (red) - sent to background, with type laid over it (white). The text prints in a very light grey but the red background does not print. What am I doing wrong? Reduced the width of the element to 999

Be sure that BOTH elements are on the top layer.  So first bring the line "to the front" then the text.

Does not work - 2 elements - a red bar and white text element. White text on top to be able to be seen. On screen everything is perfect. White on red.
Now the red bar does brintbut the text is visible when printed but is BLACK. Tied several times to change - no luck

Well one thing...what happens if you take a screen shot and print that?

Screenshot prints correctly.

This has to do with how browsers read the HTML of the webpage/text. On Firefox, the text turns black, on Chrome the text turns grey. Unfortunately, unless you want to add that red bar/text as an image, we don't have any way to control this.
When you take a screenshot, it is printing an image of your webpage, so it is not reading any HTML

That's interesting to know.  However, I did print his page from Chrome and it was perfectly white.  This whole problem is just weird.
