Hi there. We have been with homestead probably for almost 15
years now so. Along the way with little knowledge of web design we made small changes here and there which has come to be a little bit of a mess now that we are trying to make sure we are doing things correctly. Rather than trying to articulate the issues we need help resolving to a I thought we’d send a message to this community in an attempt to be clear and concise as to what the problems actually are. With that said I thank anyone in advance for trying to understand the following.

1)      I was given some information about changing the page names at one point and probably should not have acted on it as I did, but here is an example of what happened. We were told that our business name should be on each page to be found better online. Our website is eagleriverpirates.com, but our business name is Pirates Hideaway. So, for example, our “about” page would come up as “eagleriverpirates.com/aboutus.” After getting that information years later I created a new page, copied everything from the original “about us” page over to the newly created page, and named it PiratesHideawayAboutUs, so now it comes up as eagleriverpirates.com/PiratesHideawayAboutUs. Then I switched the links on the live webpage to go to the new page.

2)      Another messy problem is the old pages are linked to our Duda website info so even when I change info on the new live pages for our regular website, I need to make changes to the old pages  as well (double the work) so they are reflected on the mobile site.

3)      Lastly, when I google our website sometimes I find links to the old pages and until I click on something on the index bar I am not redirected back into the new website pages. So I know the old pages still exist online.

In conclusion I need to get rid of one of the sets of old or new pages, but I would like to again rename the page names in a more organized fashion and how they come up in the address bar. I want to do this, but I am under the impression that If I create totally new pages like I did before we compromise the ease at which the internet already recognizes our pages. I am illiterate when it comes to SEO. We have been successful at being high in the ranks on Google and I don’t want to compromise that. I am looking for advise on how I should go about doing this. I know it is a lot, but for you it might be more simple than I am thinking about it. Please let me know what you think and if you are able to help me in this matter to get back on track. I know I’ve read about deleting pages and working with redirect links and such, but I though I better consult with the professionals before moving further. We are looking to get things fixed up as soon as possible, as we are coming into an important season for scheduling and information searches. We are incredibly appreciative of you time, and we look forward to your response.
