The variant option has conflicting information.  One reason I purchased the store was site information that variants could be added.  The site says "Size, color, flavors" etc.  The variants are only for clothing or shoes.  The button "add a variant" does not allow custom variants?  It generates a field to add a new variant, but only allows description of "modern, urban" etc. My plan was to use variants to offer discounts on orders with multiples of the same item, base price, 2-pack discount, 4-pack discount, etc. And variants that bundled multiple items for one price. Will this store variant option do any of that?  If not, I need to cancel this store and find another product that offers options for products other than shoes and clothes.

Hello,

You do have the ability to add custom variants. You want to select style for the name, other for the variant type and you can delete any of the pre-filled variants with the x next to the name. Type in your variant, 2 pack, and hit enter to add it. Continue adding the variants one at a time. After the variants are added you can adjust pricing

Michelle, that is not working.  I tried that several times before my post, and get the same message now.  In add variant, style is selected, other is selected, and when 2 pack is added and the modern-urban choices are deleted - this message comes up

"The variant choices are required."  And it will not let me save the variant I entered.

Well, I went back 3 times while writing this, did exactly the same steps, and the 3rd time it did take my variant 2-pack.  Something else happened like that yesterday where every time Save was clicked the screen went to another site builder page and the item was not saved.  If it happens again, I'll trouble report it.

Thanks.

I just tried to add 4-pack variant and same problem.  Hitting save does not save - it produces message "The variant choices are required."

Have now tried 5 additional times and it will not add new variant.

No problem. You may have left the variants in the variants choice box and did not hit enter to actually add it to the list.  That will produce that error.

They should show like this prior to saving.

When I click "products" and click this one, then variants, it shows the 2-pack in product info.  Clicking add variant, then style, then other, then entering 4-pack gets the same message.  Also, the existing 2-pack option does not show below like your screen shot above.  Nowhere has an edit style screen come up, only add variant.

I found the edit style button and tried adding the 4 pack and it won't save, won't publish.  Just goes back to product.

I do see your 2 pack variant set up. If you are adding  a 4 pack variant to the same product click on the 3 dots to the right and select edit variant details.

Then add the 4 pack variant and hit Enter on your keyboard, the variant will move below and turn gray, then select save.

I did that exactly as you instructed and it produces my screen shot below.  It also just takes me back to your screen above where you say you see my variants - without adding the 4 pack when I click save.

Ok I can tell by your screenshot that you have not hit "enter" after you added the variant option.
Type the variant choice "4 pack" and hit the Enter button. It will show up as a grey bubble under that line.
Then, click Save.

Thanks! Can see now where in the overlapping conversations I missed the ENTER part before save part.   ***Suggestion - in the Variant Name section - in addition to style - the word OPTIONS would be very helpful.  In my case, the store isn't offering "style" choices but discounts for buying multiples of same product or add-on products to build a bundle of related products.  Th word STYLE generated by the price info on the page will have to be explained on each product.  "Please click STYLE for additional options."  The word OPTIONS has a much broader application than the word Style.  Thanks for your help and patience.

Awesome! Glad we were able to help out. I agree on the suggestion about more variant name options, since different stores are selling different products that may not have relation to STYLE. I will get this suggestion to the WebsiteBuilder development team to see what options we can implement. Hope you have a great day!

Hello again,

I wanted to get back to you to let you know that your suggestion is actually already something you can do in the store. (new to my knowledge) When adding a variant, if you click into the variant name field just start typing whatever name you want that to be (in this case options). You will see create "options", after typing the name click enter to apply that variant name!
