Getting started
Click Websites Manager on the left, then click Edit Site to go to the editor.

Steps to take

  1. In the toolbar, click Insert.

  1. Click Text.

  1. A text box appears on your page. Double-click inside the box, or click Edit on the top right corner, then type your text.

  2. Use the Text Settings on the right to change the way your text looks. You can make changes by highlighting the text you want to change.

  3. Resize the text box, as needed, either by entering the width and height dimensions in the Text Settings editor or by clicking and dragging one of the corners of the text box.

You can also change the appearance of your text.

Font: Use the drop-down menu to select a font. You can select specific text to apply a font choice or apply a font choice to all of the text.

Font size: Use the drop-down menu to select a font size. You can select specific text to apply a font size choice or apply a font size choice to all the text.

Font color: Use the drop-down menu to select a font color. You can select specific text to apply a font color choice or apply a font color choice to all the text.

Font style: Use the buttons to set bold, italic, or underlined text. You can select specific text to apply the font style choice or apply a font style choice to all the text.

Text alignment and bulleted lists: Use the buttons to set text alignment or bulleted list options. You can select specific lines of text to apply alignment or list options or apply an alignment choice to all the text.

Background and Border: Use the drop-down menus to set the background color, padding (white space around an object), border thickness and color of the bounding frame for the text block.

Name: Click Rename to change the default name given to the block of text added to your page.

Position and Size: Enter left, top, width, and height values to position and size the text block to a precise size and location on the page. Click to select the Lock Position and Size option to make sure the text block doesn't move or get resized.

You can also copy and paste text into the text box from another page or document but you will need to reapply any formatting to the text.

Note: Some formatting options available in Word processors might not be supported in SiteBuilder.

To edit your text

  1. Go to the page that contains the text you want to edit.

  2. Click the text box.

  3. Double-click inside the box, or click Edit on the top right corner, then type your text.

Cannot edit texting in windows 8.

Hello, I am using Windows 8, IE 10. I can easily access the account, can upload photos but it will not allow me to edit text anywhere. I can add text boxes but it will not allow to type nor to copy and paste from elsewhere.

Follow the steps above. If you still have problems, can you try a different browser such as Firefox? Let us know if it's isolated to just the IE browser, or both.

,   There's not a way to change the line spacing, but, you can change the font size, style and color as shown in this thread.

Romas4555  Can you describe in more detail what is wrong?  Are there any error messages etc?  Is it a specific text box, or page, or is it all pages and text boxes etc?

Hello,

You will not see a drop down for bolding the text, but in the article above, you will that on the right hand side, after the text is selected, there is a bold icon(capital B) that will bold the text.

Is there way to insert new text at the beginning of your site page without having to move everything else down manually?

It would depend on the arrangement of the page. If the top item is a text box, you can add the text in that box at the top, but you still may need to move things depending on how much it is. If you hold down the shift key and left click your mouse you can select elements on the page and then move several elements all at once. Does that help?

Unfortunately if you have to add a text box, you will almost certainly need to move things around, but maybe the grouping of elements will help.

Make sure the yellow bar at the top of the edit screen is not showing. It will say changes made will appear on all pages. If that is not showing, then click insert > text, and that will add text to only 1 page.
