Sad to see it all crumbling, surrounded by longtime users like myself who are feeling like Homestead (parent company) is actually making an effort to destroy what has been a fabulous product for so long.

It is sad Joshua - through all the years I have used Homestead and supported it, I've never once doubted or lost faith in it - til now. But every week there seems to be a new snafu and no explanation of what or why. Customer support, with the exception of this Forum, has become a laughing stock.

If there was some communication I think everyone would be less angry, frustrated, upset and on the brink of leaving. It boggles my mind how Homestead is being run or not run as the case may be. I feel like they are just thumbing their noses at us. Thank goodness we have Drew and now William on board to help us wade through some of this muck.

I have stopped recommending Homestead to clients because I can no longer count on it to be functional on a routine basis.

Yes, very sad indeed.

I don't find William to be of much help at all!! He merged a topic I wanted to answered with a irrelivant problem and didn't even transfer the total Problem!! My Idea here is because he had no answer for it. NO answers to many of the problems. Websites down for 22 minutes and another one for almost an hour. Knowing it is hurting rank with Google to be on ERROR!!!!

Mileen3055,

When we merge your post to another post, it brings over everything in that post. I apologize if you feel that some of the information was cut off from the original, but it may have not had all the information in the original.

Your post was talking about how your website went down when we had our outage. I merged it to our official post about our outage and then commented just after it explaining.

As far as effecting your rankings, you would need to confirm with Google if the brief outage affected your rank. There are numerous articles out there, even quoting Google's engineers, saying that brief downtime up to a day or so should not impact it at all. Extended downtime, such as weeks, could effect it.

Here is an excellent article I found explaining this. http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/news/2281151/matt-cutts-short-website-downtime-wont-hurt-your-searc...#

Thanks for the information. It was very helpful. I don't receive emails any more so I have to seek and find my answers on the forum. Someone must have set it that way because all of a sudden my emails from Homestead stopped.

themieleman- I appreciate your optimism but unfortunately the "dream of tomorrow" isn't working for me anymore.  How great Homestead is when (if) they finally get this disaster sorted out will be of no consequence to me when my business which is 100% reliant on a website that I have built by way of an investment in their company has failed.  I don't want to hear about how great it's going to be someday.  I want it to function right now.  And I damn sure expect better of a company I've invested so much time and money with than they have offered me and the rest of the people they have utterly disrespected over the course of this debacle.

I understand your frustration. I've been building my site for 3 years. I hate to go through another learning curve. I have a business to run.

This is not a learning curve.  This is a severe problem that should have been better planned for, better communicated and should be better handled.

Why are YOU responding to me rather than someone that can help me fix this?  Why isn't it fixed after the first FOUR times this has been an issue?

It's outrageous.

Joshua we are all frustrated, but your response to themieleman was a bit rude IMHO and that's the last thing we need now - to start biting each other's heads off.

I think Joshua is correct. We need a response for someone who can DO something about this. AND we need a clear explanation of what is happening. DOWN AGAIN tonight. Please. We are all in business and depend on this company. It's nice to have a community, but that's not what this is all about. We are paying good money and we deserve an explanation and a consistent platform.

Your complaints are passed along to the community. You really should be directing your complaints to Homestead company officials.

I have 65 web sites, some sites with several hundred pages. This is what I get with every site. What is going on at Homestead? I have been with this website company for 15 years and never had this much trouble. I need some resolution before the end of the day!!!!
