If current templates won't migrate to New Website Builder, will my current site be nonfunctional until I update or will I have option to keep site as is?

Your current website will still remain functional, and you would be able to continue to edit it from the same builder you have been.

will those of us that aren't using the new website builder be charged the $2/month increase?

All accounts will be seeing a price increase since all accounts will be given access to create new sites with the new builder.

I think the initial notification of the forthcoming builder led to a bit of confusion for us builders but to clarify the NEW sitbuilder is not costing and extra $2,  its the updated hardware, servers etc etc. Now I am assuming with the new hardware the techs are now able to develope a "better" sitebuilder for us to use, should we want to, but the cost is not for the new programme but the upgraded hardware.

Just to clarify, A whole new web site will need to be created using the NEW sitebuilder.  Will this program only be accessible via downloading the software as opposed to being able to do editing online? (now we can do some editing online with the orginal software) how will that work? How will we access each version?

The website builder will be accessible through your browser, so everything stays online. There will not be a need to download anything to your computer (besides your browser) to edit your website.
