Can I remove the title bar from a photo gallery?

The photo gallery of my website has a dark bar under every picture with the words "Title" and "Description" on it. Can I get rid of this feature? I use a lot of pictures and they are very self-explanatory. To have to write a title and description for each is way too much work. I would rather just have a slideshow without them. Can this be done?
