What is a RSS feed?

RSS also known as Really Simple Syndication is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines—in a standardized format .

RSS feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically. A standardized XML file format allows the information to be published once and viewed by many different programs. They benefit customers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favorite stores or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place, such as Google Reader.  The customer can then be notified when products in your store are added or changed, or when you post news items.  RSS also helps SEO in cases where a potential customer is subscribed to your site or sites with similar items being syndicated.

You can enable RSS feeds by going to  Settings->Store Settings->Display Tab:
