https://" and "https://www" duplicate content issue

If a website is opening with both https://" and "https://www" That means a website has some canonical issue and search engines can then potentially index your site under different URLs, meaning that it will look like a site of duplicated content.  How can that be fixed?

Hello,

I would recommend creating an account with Google Search Console and adding all versions of your website:

Google Search Console | Homestead Community

You can then indicate a preferred URL version within the account settings of GSC.

@albert6390

Someone offered to fix it by asking me to add them as users to the website, can it be fixed that way too?

I would be wary of offers like this. It may be a scam but I have no way of knowing for sure.

@elyzabethv Thanks again. I did your first suggestion, how will I know it is working?

I don't know that there is a way to test, but if you see all properties successfully added through Google Search Console, it will work.
