Updated Credit Card Info But Billing Date Past

I was just notified today that the church (who I maintain the web site for) got an email saying this months auto billing was rejected by the bank.  I then looked and noticed the credit card on file expired so I updated it with the correct info and it accepted the new card info.  Billing was to have taken place on the 8/18 but now past due.  Will Homestead now bill August invoice or will they just double up in September?  Thanks for any help you can give me with this.
